The November 25th hearing is a federal court date for the legal dispute between CoreCivic and the City of Leavenworth over CoreCivic’s plan to open an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Leavenworth. The hearing will allow CoreCivic to present arguments that a Kansas court’s decision preventing them from housing ICE detainees should be overturned, while the Department of Justice has joined CoreCivic, stating the city is unlawfully interfering with federal operations.
The hearing will take place at the United States District Court, 444 S.E. Quincy, Topeka, Kansas 66683 at 3pm.
