KIFA recognizes the Carceral Accountability Council with the Faith Into Action Award.

KIFA’s Faith Into Action Award is a way to recognize people and organizations who have been consistently engaged in a particular area of KIFA’s work. The Carceral Accountability Council (CAC) formed in 2025 as a response to the news that Core Civic was planning to open an ICE detention center in Leavenworth. CAC has collaborated with various organizations, including KIFA, to host vigils, protests, rallies, and now is turning their energy and resources to advocating for public prisons that prioritize safety, human dignity, and total visibility.

Our team had the privilege of attending the Kansas Interfaith Action (KIFA) Annual Event, “Creating the Movement,” and were thrilled to received the Faith Into Action Award!

This recognition means so much to us. It reflects the tireless dedication of our volunteers, supporters, and partners who support us in our mission. Thank you, Kansas Interfaith Action for this incredible honor.
To everyone who has walked this journey with us: this award belongs to you. Let’s keep moving forward together!
